Anthrax and Testament Together on Tour

It seems like Anthrax is really looking forward to the fall tour with their buddies from Testament. The US fall tour will begin in Anhtrax`s Big Four hometown appearance at the Yankee Stadium, where also Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth will play, on 14th September. Also, the guys from testament are really exited about this tour, because after 20 years, they are going on a tour together again. Apparently, Anthrax was the first band that accompanied Testament in their first tour. The first time that happened, Testament had only ten songs, so this time it will be different. They have new album coming in 2012. This tour will be supported by Death Angel. Here are the tour dates:

Drown by Smashing Pumpkins

As a fan of the Smashing Pumpkins discography, you must be familiar with their song “Drown”, which was very popular during the 90-ties. Today, they released an 8-track demo version of the song “Drown”. According to the frontman of the band, Billy Corgan, there are no big differences between the album track and the demo version. It is very cool that you will have the opportunity to listen to the song how it sounds unfiltered. The demo of this song was recorded in Chicago, with another five songs. Another interesting fact about this song is that it is one of the soundtracks for the movie “Singles” by Cameron Crowe, starring Bridget Fonda, Campbell Scott and Kyra Sedgwick. It is also Billy Corgans favorite song. Check it out and enjoy its sound.

Ozzy Osbourne…He is one talented unstoppable human being. First it was his music career, than the reality show, the first book “I am Ozzy”, and now he is adding in his resume his second book “Trust me, I`m Dr.Ozzy”. And he has every right to publish that book. I mean, look at his, he is a medical marvel. He is one of the rare musicians that was abusing all kinds of narcotics and he is alive to share the experience with us mortals. About a year ago, his DNA was examined, and there are some unexplained moments about that whole “Ozzy Genome”.Apparently, in his book he is pretending to be a doctor, and he offers all kind of advises, due to his superpower-abusing the drugs:). So, is you are curious little fella, but want to grow and live, take Ozzy`s advises, cause that man is a legend. He is literally dreaming his life awake:)

Welcome 2 Alice Cooper`s Nightmare

After all years of waiting, next month will finally be the month when the fans of Alice Cooper can enjoy his sequel to his album “Welcome to my Nightmare” that was released in 1975. 35 years later, finally he releases “I`ll bite your face off”. He and his long time collaborator Bob Ezrin, created the Alice Cooper character, so he claims that he is just playing this part, he is not actually Alice Cooper. The other cast on this album consists of the original Alice Cooper members Denis Dunaway, Michael Bruce and Neal Smith, the pop star Ke$ha and the legendary guitarist Steve Hunter, who will be a part of Alice Cooper`s tour. Slipknot`s Frontman and Velvet Revolver`s Guitarist Together in a Super group

Yes ladies and gentlemen, this is the idea of the future super group. Apparently, the frontman of Slipknot, Corey Taylor wants to form a group with Duff McKagan, the Velvet Revolver guitarist. They met in 2008 on the Velvet Revolver audition, and even though Taylor did not get the job, they both continued with their collaboration. They already have some materials together, so Taylor hopes that this “thing” between them will become something huge. We will see about that.

Black Sabbath Reunion?

There have been many rumors about the reunion of the band. This new one is that the members of Black Sabbath apparently are rehearsing for a tour and a new studio album. The guitarist Tony Iommi and Ozzy Osbourne have been working on some materials this summer, which will be used in the new album. The album will be released in 2012. They say that the rumors were around for a long time, and the reason that the band did not reunite was the heart attack of the drummer Bill Ward in 1998. The band almost recorded a album back in 1999. In 2005 they have been on a tour together and since then, they never played together again. However, today Tony Iommy announced that this “news” is just an old story that was told back in June. Ozzy Osbourne have said many times that he wouldn`t mind to reunite again with his old band, but that he will not be very disappointed if it did not happen. Nothing is official yet. We will just wait and see.

Slash feat. Mary J. Blige

Slash, the Slash is promoting his new trend. The former Guns N`Roses guitarist already did the song “Beautiful Dangerous ” with Fergie from The Black Eyed Peace,and back in 2009 he contributed in Rihana`s “Rockstar 101″ song with his guitar solo, and this year he is doing it again with Mary J. Blige (wow, that sounded totally different in my head):).He confirmed this news on his Twitter account announcing that he is in the studio working on the material for his second solo album. So, we guess his plan is to collaborate with the queens of the pop music, according to the latest news about his plan to do a duet also with Lady Gaga. Recently, Slash came back from a world tour and the last we now about him is that he has no plans going back with Velvet Revolver.

Doctor Bruce Dickinson?

Now, you think of Bruce Dickinson, and you are confused. Hmmm, is he going to operate my heart during a flight, while singing “Change of heart?” No you guys, he is not that kind of doctor (although we might expect something like that in a few years);) Iron Maiden`s Bruce Dickinson has received an Honorary Doctorate of Music degree from Queen Mary University in London. This is his second degree on this University. The first one was back in 1979 when he was an actual student. Although his parents wanted him to go to the Army, he got into college, which was his excuse. In a meantime, he was playing in bands, which was not a bed idea:) Bruce Dickinson received the Doctorate about his contribution to the music industry. And in case you are still wondering about the part in this post, where Dickinson operates your heart on a flight, don`t be. He is also a licensed commercial airplane pilot.
You go Bruce, you can still pursue all of your dreams:)

Metallica celebrates 30 years anniversary

When you think of Metallica, do you have a feeling that you`ve known them forever? Well, maybe that is because they have been performing for 30 years now. How crazy is that, huh? ) The bend decided to celebrate their 30-th anniversary with a full-on Metalica week in the Bay Area of San Francisco. The event will start on December 5-th, followed with four shows for their official fun club Met Club, which will also include special guests, rare songs, varied set lists and everything else you can imagine from Metallica. And when it comes to them, imagination just don`t have limits.
This is a great chance for the Metallica fans, to participate in a week of Metallica performances. The hosts of this event will provide the fans with a special four pack tickets, one ticket for each of the four shows, but they can also buy an individual show ticket, available for $6. The tickets will be available through a reservation system. Well guys, if you are Metalica fans, don`t waste this chance

RIP Michael Burston

Wurzel

The former Motorhead guitarist Michael “Würzel” Burston passed away on july 9th 2011, from ventricular fibrillation. Burston joined the legendary metal bend in 1984, and performed with them 11 years. He also played in Bastard and Warfare. He started a bend called Leader of Down, and their debut album was suppose to be released in 2010, but it never did. His discography in Motorhead includes the following albums: No Remorse, Orgasmatron, Rock `n Roll, No Sleep at All, The Birthday Party and 1916. The members of Motorhead announced this touching note:
“We are greatly saddened to confirm that our long-time friend and comrade Würzel died Saturday at his home. Würz was pouring a Guinness and cracking a joke when he succumbed to a heart attack; at least we know he went with a smile. It is a cliche to say that words cannot describe how we feel, and in this case, other than ones such as ‘shit’ and ‘awful’ and ‘very very sad’ it is true, they really can’t. We all shared many many great times together, and what he did for Motörhead is quite simply indelible. As our good friend Steve ‘Krusher’ Joule said, ‘RIP dear Würzel, a rocker and a gentleman.”
